new Nalan album out now + welcome Paycheque

Nalan released her second album 2009. We welcome Paycheque. Dreaming For Miles is finally on all DSPs.

Intro

_{You might have noticed there was a}_{scandal in the music world a few weeks ago}_{, when it came out that many labels, including respected indie labels, use services by agencies like Chaotic Good who deploy armies of manufactured accounts to create (or boost already existing) hypes and virality. We}_{did a widely shared post}_{on Instagram in case you want to hear our take on it.}

_{To elaborate further: we're saddened that now that indie music has to compete in the same arenas as everything else (there used to be more dedicated spaces for it), people have to use unsavory tactics to get a better position in those arenas. It makes things even more unfair than they already are (let’s talk about class more, please). If you think}_{„well that's how it's always been and that's what marketing is like"}_{, yes that's probably true, but it doesn't mean we shouldn't criticize it. And yes, the internet is full of fakes, but we are releasing indie music we like and don't run pro-Brexit campaigns using Russian bot farms. That's what this reminds us of.}

_{Either way, for moral and financial reasons, we're still doing things the old way and we appreciate your support.}

_{Today we want to highlight two releases: the just released second album by Berlin-based alt-pop artist}_Nalan_called₂₀₀₉_{, and a new addition to the label roster we're really excited about: LA synth-pop duo}_Paycheque_{, whose debut album is out June 12th.}

^{Four years after her solo debut}^{I'm Good. The Crying Tape}^{, Nalan is back with her second album}²⁰⁰⁹^{- out today! Nine songs, made mostly in Istanbul and Berlin, building a fictional}²⁰⁰⁹^{from her own digicam archive of the time (the artwork is pulled straight from it).}

^{It's co-produced again by walter p99 arkestra, with collaborators from the Munich indie-punk underground of that era. She is also going on tour in Germany in the next weeks with a full band, dates are below!}

_{Discovery Zone & John Moods - Dreaming For Miles now on all DSPs}

_{Back in October ‘25 we released the Discovery Zone & John Moods collab album}_{Dreaming For Miles}_{as a small experiment: Bandcamp and physical only, no streaming. We wanted to see what that felt like and whether it changed anything. It did and we learned a lot. But we also noticed that this way unfortunately we can reach much fewers listeners. So recently, we did eventually put}_{Dreaming For Miles}_{on all DSPs and it is great to see so many people listening to it.}

_{Also: the first pressing of the limited CD and cassette sold out. There's now a second round with alternative artwork and the bonus track is still on it.}
